Hessian Rock

Engraved natural boulder marking the route of part of the "Convention Army" - so called - who surrendered to American forces at the Battle of Saratoga. The boulder is located at Hessian Lane and Elm Street, in New Salem, Massachusetts. The inscription reads:

at Saratoga Passed Here
